Key Vault | Azure
Azure Key Vault is a cloud service that provides a secure store for secrets. You can securely store keys, passwords, certificates, and other secrets. Azure key vaults may be created and managed through the Azure portal. In this quickstart, you create a key vault, then use it to store a secret.
Exercise:
Login to Azure portal → search key vault on search bar → click on “Create key vault”.
Click on next and next and then Review and Create.
Once Key vault is created go to your key vault → click on secrets to add secrets and then click on Generate/import.
Now you provide the details for the secret and click on create, ensure that you have clicked on Enabled as Yes.
Now admin can share this secret name to developers or users which they can use as per their requirement and this way password will not be exposed.
Use Case Scenario: We can save Database password in key vault secret to avoid exposing the password with developers.
